Banbury Park Dementia Centre

Qestral needed a purpose built dementia care facility that felt like a home rather than an institution. The 1,200 square metre centre holds 20 private care suites across two wings of ten, each with its own ensuite bathroom.

The building is designed at domestic scale throughout. An open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area encourages residents to take part in everyday routines, with double doors opening to a secure landscaped garden. Circular walking paths mean residents can move outdoors freely without meeting a dead end, which reduces anxiety and supports independence.

Cedar cladding and a Rockcote plastering system give the centre a modern appearance, with timber decks to each unit. The twelve month contract completed in 2023.
