The Ministry of Social Development needed 120 service centres upgraded across the country, in buildings that continue serving the public throughout. Home Ground was contracted to deliver the programme as a single national engagement.
All eight partners delivered, each taking the sites in their own region. Individual site values ran between $300,000 and $400,000, so the programme turned on consistency and coordination rather than the scale of any one upgrade. Auckland sites included Three Kings and Pukekohe, with equivalent work completed in every other part of the country.
The Ministry held one contract and one point of accountability. The work was done by local teams in the communities those centres serve, and the spend stayed in those regions. The programme ran from 2020 to 2023.
