Port Ahuriri School

The Ministry of Education needed every existing building at Port Ahuriri School refurbished and extended. Individual classrooms were significantly refurbished and strengthened, with decayed material replaced throughout.

Spaces were enlarged to form open plan learning hubs, complemented by new sheltered outdoor learning areas. The result changes how the school teaches rather than simply renewing what was there.

Work ran across five planned construction phases so staff and students could keep learning while the school was rebuilt around them. Close working between the contractor, the Ministry and the school made that possible. It was completed in March 2022.
