Acurity Health Group is based in Australia and appointed a local project manager to lead the project on its behalf. The engagement started well before construction, with cost estimates prepared and confirmed to set the budget, and timeframes reviewed and loaded into the client's business case for internal approval.
Once approved, the consulting team was engaged and the construction team joined the design meetings. Advice covered structural design to protect budget, construction speed and material availability, material selection against known supply and cost, and detail design to simplify construction. Elemental estimates were run at intervals to test the design against budget, with subtrades brought in to add advice and further budget review.
With the design agreed, drawings were completed for building consent. A fixed price contract was entered for each stage while consent was processed.
