Union Square is a staged commercial precinct at the south end of Hamilton's CBD, delivering more than 23,000 square metres of A grade office space across five buildings, supported by 350 carparks, retail and community space. The name comes from Union Bridge, built in 1877 to connect Hamilton's eastern and western suburbs.
Delivery has run building by building rather than as a single construction event, with each stage brought forward as leasing commitments firmed up. Ebbett Tower on the corner of Anglesea and Hood Streets was the first completed, later recognised with a commercial architecture award from the New Zealand Institute of Architects. Building E followed, a six storey, 5,800 square metre office with shared business facilities serving the wider precinct.Building B is the fourth multi storey office on the site since 2020
With Rabobank, Tetra Pak and AECOM as tenants. The precinct took Gold at the Registered Master Builders New Zealand Commercial Project Awards.
